Taking you through your journey from the religious ceremony to the reception, inside the ancient walls of the Farnese Castle you will enjoy an unforgettable experience, in an elegant and cosy environment.
Situated on a volcanic rock, in a small etrurian village, Farnese Castle is a place rich with history, where you will be immersed in a romantic and suggestive atmosphere, making your biggest dream come true.
The History
The Castle
The Castle sits at the center of the medieval village, perched on a porous rock, naturally easy to defend. The original structure goes back to medieval times even if the appearance of the actual noble palace is due to the Farnese family, who owned the castle from the XVI century. Some of the defensive structures are noticeable today, such as the circular tower, the access point (originally defended by a drawbridge) and some structures set on the square towers. At the very center of the courtyard there is a dwell, still operational today.
The Village of Isola Farnese
A small and precious medieval village, just out of the Grande Raccordo Anulare (Rome Ring Road), where the Etruscans once lived, people of great culture and fierce opponents of ancient Rome. Owned by the powerful Orsini family until the XVI century, until Cardinal Alessandro Farnese bought the castle, giving life back to the village and making it what we see today. In the surrounding park, a few traces of the ancient city of Veio, of which Isola Farnese must have been part, were left behind.
The Church of Saint Pancras Martyr
Dated XV century, the church was renovated in 1600. The facade is presented with a door built with marbles from the roman era and over it there is a rose window with polychrome glass decorations. The inside is structured in
three naves with apse. All around the interiors of the building are XV century frescos or parts of frescos. The Church capacity is 150 people circa and has a convenient dedicated parking available.

About us
We were looking for a location for a winter wedding and with a special scenography. The Castle offers various spaces to divide development of the day in different areas, both oudoors and indoors. We lived unforgettable moments, particularly enjoyed as well by our guests, who were very happy. The staff really helps making the Castle unique by being present and polite while fulfilling the needs of the newlyweds and the guests, who were all captivated by the magic of the place, as well as by the scenography and by the quality of the service and the catering. Our expectiations were highly exceeded and we received many compliments by all the guests.
Perfect location to realize the most beautiful day. The stunning context and the accomodating staff have made an unforgettable experience possible, such as our wedding has been. Magic atmosphere, impeccable service, top notch cuisine food, professionalism and absolute flexibility. Everything was perfect. We were followed step by step, from start to end with care, helpfulness and a rare patience. Thank you.
We celebrated our wedding in the beautiful Church of Saint Pancrace Martyr, inside the Isola Farenese Village. A unique and rare scenery that takes you back in time. Because of this, it was possible to shoot some amazing photos in the village without having to travel far, giving us the opportunity to share with our guests every moment of the reception, from the aperitivo at the opening. Nothing was left out and the whole event has been handled masterfully. The staff was able to meet all our needs and together we created a unique and precious event. Great value for the money, as well as unmathcable staff kindness, professionalims and competence. We would do it all over again.
